Whoot! March is here at last! Yay! That means one thing it's (Inter) National Crochet Month!
National Crochet Month was started by the Crochet Guild of America, and the CLF has made it our business to whoop it up!!
That's why we are sponsoring the Flamies! If you haven't cast your vote, get busy will ya? We end the voting on Tuesday, March 3 2009.
Remember we are announcing the winners on Getting Loopy with Mary Beth Temple on Monday, March 16th! Be there or be square.
Other activities: Check out the many crochet blogs our in blog land, with over 3140 members (we're just growing by leaps and bounds folks!) there are bound to be fun crochet posts all over the net! In fact, why don't you blog your crochet?
If you are on Ravelry, check out the Crochet Party Group! We have ever so much fun, we're all really busy this year, but you can pop your head in say hi, and join in with the crochet sillies! I know you can!
ABOUT THE CLF
- Fearless Leader of the CLF
- Everywhere, No where
- I started the CLF as a joke on Ravelry, back in July of 2007. The joke was on me, we're a real group, that seeks to liberate ourselves from stereo types about our craft and ourselves. Other than being called "Fearless Leader", I'm a designer, mother, editor, wife, hand spinner, yarn addict, incessant reader, and over all geek in the coolest of geeky ways.
Beware Defamers of the Hook!
Like Joan of Arc, and the Scarlet Pimpernel we are here to seek Justice!

Crochet in the News...
Nothing says the holidays like crochet...oh I know there's a lot of other crafting that happens...but this is the time of year that when I have hook in hand people actually ask me if I'm crocheting...why? Cause "Grandma crocheted me slippers every Christmas..." or "Aunty Suzy made me crocheted snowflake ornaments every year...." or " My mother made me the most awful hats and scarves.... but I wish I had them now...."
That's why...for some reason people remember crochet at Christmas time...and here's a news story that shows one woman's dedication to the holiday and her craft: crochet....It's a heart warmer...
Thanks to Kdmay28 for bringing this story to our attention on the CLF board on Ravelry....Timely and wonderful!

Over 2000 members and still growing!!!
Minions are numbers continue to swell! I've even had a few emails asking how to join our rowdy rank and file and so here is a message to all who wish to be in the cool crowd of the Crochet Liberation Front! (2010 members last I logged in!!! WHOOT! not bad for a joke, eh?)
If you are on Ravelry.com then look us up under Groups, CLF and Crochet Liberation Front will both work!
If you aren't on Ravelry, then do it now go to http://www.ravelry.com and sign up for an invitation! It's still in Beta testing and so they let on a few folks at a time so as not to overload the server etc...It's worth it to get on! Companionship, community, folks with the same interest, different intersts, and project pages and amazing one on one contact with designers, publishers and afficionados like you and me who just LOVE what we do!!
Once you get onto Ravelry then find the Crochet Liberation Front under groups, hit the join button and come say howdy!!
I've got a lot of work to do on the website I know, and that too shall happen...when? When these two little hands can get to it...for right now all I have is keychains and buttons listed, but I will have t-shirts up and running soon...
Hook on! Live Long!
